TRD LSD one time group buy @low price
#1
Guys,
I have set up a “group” buy for the GS400/300 TRD Limited Slip with Steve @ Carson Toyota.
The price is $799!
This is a one time only offer, and will happen independent of number of participants. This is a very good price. After this buy, even Steve can only get it for $950 because TRD has already posted their new higher price for this part. TRD let him make a last time buy at this price. For reference, the following is the description from the Kazuma website under TRD USA, and notice the price:
“00647-41301-200 LSD, Supra (JZA80 NA model), GS400&300 Clutch type for Racing and Street $1,026.00”
Steve will place the order by close of business on Monday March 12th. Inquiries and orders are to be directed to Steve at 310-522-2381. For my ref, reply to this post so I’ll know the number of parties participating.
Lead time from TRD Japan is approx 4 weeks.

After the TC installed, due to more torque transfered to the rear wheels, I got wheel spins all the time. I knew it's time to get LSD. I also knew that with the RMM 3.76 unit, you'll hit the rev. limiter often and it actually slows you down 0-60 due to the extra gear shift. That's why I went with the TRD unit with 3.26 gear ratio.
Oh, I like it a lot. The lcoking is so obvious, you can feel it during driving. Every time the wheel locked down, I know without the LSD, I'm going see wheel lspin and VCS light. I appreciate the LSD more and more...

Will the TRD LSD fit a GS430?
Hi guys,
Curious if the TRD LSD will fit on the GS430. Besides the labor involved is there anything else that needs to be done? I recall Calvin talking about needing a new TC since the stock one won't work with the TRD LSD. Help me out here since I am not knowledgeable when it comes to cars. Thanx

Hi Jacob, so you think the RMM LSD actually slows the car? I thought it would give you better acceleration due to the lower gearing, but I don't know how it compares to the TC/TRD LSD combo. Pricewise, the RMM LSD is cheapter since the labor cost is going to be small.
I was leaning toward the RMM LSD because it's a simple bolt-on, and I don't need to worry about the lower mileage, higher operating temperature of the transmission, and shifting roughness that some members have talked about in the past.

Yes, Mo has confirmed this. If you compare 0-60 time. Give you a good example between 3.76 and 3.26 gearing. If you ever ridden a 21-speed bike. If 3.26 is the smallest gear and 3.76 is the next bigger size gear. While you're riding, if you change from the smallest gear to the second one. what'd happen? You feel the pedal's lighter but you need to pedal faster to keep the same speed. If you apply the same theory to RMM and TRD LSD, RMM give you more torque to start off but increase the rpm to achieve the same speed. So at 70mph, you'll see higher rpm from RMM LSD.
The GS tranny ECU was programmed to shift gear at certain rpm. From 0-60 mph, 3.26 gear only shifts to 2nd gear but with 3.76 gear, it'd shift to 3rd gear. That's why it slows down the 0-60 time.

Hey Jacob,
From talking to Steve Ganz, I realized where you got your LSD. Steve mentioned you got a good deal through a dealership. I was talking to Derek, the service manager at Serramonte Lexus, and he said they sold one really cheap to a guy in Texas because the guy who originally ordered it no longer wanted it. That Texas guy must be you.
