Default Time for a face lift....damage (pics)

Well after driving on the freeway a big metal box shoots out from a commercial truck, slams directly into my grill destroying the latch, my hood flies open (at 65mph) and now im driving blind on the freeway. I manage to drive while looking out my window and looking at the very bottom of my windshield where i can see just barely....I don't want to keep thinking about what COULD of happened. Im alright but my car is not. The commercial truck kept driving as he probably didnt even know what had happened so he kept driving. No i did not get a license plate, and yes this sucks, but insurance will take care of it. Total damage is $5000(+) hood, fenders (because the hood was not using hood shocks the hood went back too far and raised the upper lips of the fenders), winsheild and the roof. Vertex front bumper went un-damaged.

With that all said I think its time I change the car completely, so no more carbon fiber hoods for me. Hopefully, you guys will like the changes im going for as soon as my stuff from Japan comes (big boxes)

I know pictures say a thousand words, so heres a few:

the roof now has waves in it, so the whole skin will have to be replaced

Ever wondered what your car looked like slammed to full capacity with front end missing?

cracked winshied

messed up but not trashed too much cf hood. If anyone is interested in a hood for lighter weight and wants to repair and paint the hood let me know ill post in the classifieds, Oh, and dont even ask about the DSR grill, its in grill heaven on HWY50

I used to have curse threads, but I wont bring that back up, i see this as a chance for a new beginning.

-Andy

Sorry that happened to you and I'm glad you're okay. It could've been a lot worse. Can't wait to see what you have in store for us.

Sounds like you are going with the third gen conversion from Vertex. If not, why not? Be the first!

I'm just real glad it didn't slam into the front windshield and strike you in the head. Can't wait to see the new changes.
