My rpm was around 3500 rpm at 80 mph on gear 5, is that normal ?
i've been noticing these days my rpm is around 3500 while i was at around 80mph on gear 5, is that normal ? and when i tried to hit 85-90mph....the rpm went higher and higher.....

i think for a gs300 normal is 3000 at 80mph, at least thats what mine is and i thought that was high when i first got it, but did a little searchng and found out its normal

for some reason, i thought u had the v8! bad memory
i think mine is the same. if you want, we can run on the fwy and check the rpm's
if i remember reading JDI racing's thread about the VVT-I system in our vehicles, they can give us a low rev but yet create the same powerband as a higher reving vehicle for emissions and increase fuel economy? correct me if im wrong. but heres the link https://www.clublexus.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=114233
I noticed if my gearbox is cold the lock-up on the torque converter does not work and will rev at 3500 @80mph. With the gearbox warm the lock-up is fine and ticks over at 2,900 @80mph
