Default Does your GS suffer from wheel hop?

Like it says, does your GS wheel hop? Mine does sometimes and it's very annoying....

Tonight my wife was driving(very, very rare) and we met up with a G35c(also a chic driving)at a light. I told her to smoke her. light changed, my wife smacked pedal to floor and it spun & wheel hopped pretty bad out of hole. bad enough to give the G35 about a car lenght or so. once we hooked we started barely reeling them in and then my wife let out.

sorry dawg, i don't have that problem in my GS3.

isn't this mostly a problem with front wheel drive cars since their weight shifts to the rear tires leaving the front ones to sound like squealing piggies? i know old school muscle cars had wheel hop from having beefy torque (refer to the first "Los Rapidos y Furiosos" haha)

I dont have it, but wheel hop can come from different sources. Control arm, differential, subframe, etc bushings are some of the key factor. However, I find that the way the car is launched and the tires themselves make up the most of wheel hop. Too bad we dont have traction bars available for our cars.

i thought you were talking about going around a turn or a curve on the highway and hitting a bump and the whole wheel sort of hops or skips a little (my heart always skips too) cuz if going fast enough the rest of the car could go with it i guess. but doing burn outs in my gs4 no hops or skips or jumps... my old front wheel drive car did though.

Mine will skip so much sometimes that everything will shake, CD will skip, lights will go all over the road and.... yea, I don't like it, and I think it is because the tires are gaining traction, loosing traction, gaining, then loosing. I hate it, I am thinking about getting a LSD, I think it will fix the problem....

Wheel hop can happen on RWD cars. It occurs during launch or hard acceleration from a standstill. There are ways to minimize or eliminate it. Most have to do with bushing changes or suspension add-ons or alterations. Not necessarily tire or wheel selection.
