Afraid to drive my GS!
HELP! I’m afraid to drive my car! I may never leave my house again. Have to walk or cycle everywhere. I’m not paranoid or anything – it’s just that I know that they’re out there … waiting for me to leave - defenseless. I swear I just saw a Plano PD black & white down at the end of my street – waiting. And Charlie (my dog) is barking – he sees that Texas DPS trooper hiding behind the neighbor’s Suburban – I knew it! They’re everywhere! There’s another … hiding … waiting … for that white Lexus GS to haul *** down the street – and I’m defenseless. What a helpless feeling. Oh woe is me.
Why, you ask? No radar detector – my beloved Valentine One is dead. No, it’s not the detector itself, it’s the cigarette lighter outlet. I plugged my old Passport into the outlet – no workee. Plugged the V1 into the accessory outlet in the armrest console and it works. The trusty owner’s manual shows the same fuse feeds both the ash tray outlet and the accessory outlet so the fuse must be good.
So, looks like I need to remove the ash tray to check out the wiring to the ash tray lighter. Surely, someone has removed the ash tray, door and all, not just the ash receptacle – that doesn’t give access to anything. How to get that thing off/out??
Pearl (the GS) has little drops of moisture (must be tears) running down the headlight covers – she wants to run – run like the wind. Please help Pearl, please make us whole again – HELP!

Ashtray removal
I removed my ashtray after I messed it up while applying the wood dash kit. It just snaps in. Becareful not to pull the wires too much before disconnecting them.
