Default trade in G35 for GS430?

I currently own a 2004 G35 and to put it simply, I hate the car. There is a white 2001 GS430 for sale in my area with 73,000 miles going for $17,900.

I have a payment with my G35 and owe about $17,000. Should I make the trade or not?

I know how reliable the GS can be, should I have any concern about the mileage on it?

Any input, suggestions or hate mail is appreciated

Just out of curiosity, why do you hate the G35?

Default why do I hate it?

1. it rattles like crazy! I can honestly point out 12 different rattles in the car

2. its very cheap, plastic pieces everywhere

3. its slower than ketchup pouring out of a bottle, yes its even a 6spd

4. the handling is terrible for a "sports" coupe

5. the navigation system is worthless. I would rather rely on a blind person using a map

6. the sound sytem is horrible. Yes BOSE, but it blows. Very hollow sound. Bass is distorted. Already had to have CD player replaced due to skipping

7. The trunk is pointless, cant even put my golf clubs in it

8. I have other reasons, but its not the cars fault, its my personal opinion so I cant really make it valid. The car is now out of warranty and god knows what else I will have to have fixed on it. (already fixed, door lock actuators, power windows and cd player) Tried to get them to fix rattles, but of course "unable to duplicate"

If you are thinking about getting an Infiniti, I BEG you to reconsider. They are nice cars for the first 30,000 miles, but after that, you pissed away your money. Selling my IS350 was the worst mistake ever!!!

Did I mention it only has 39,000 miles on it? I guess for every 1,000 miles you put on it, it comes with a new rattle. The only thing I like about the car are the brembo brakes. Not because they work very well, (i believe the 4 pots on the IS350 are equally the same) but because they say brembo on it.

that is all.

for 73k for a 01 gs430 is normal driving, 10k a year for most drivers so the mileage adds up...

as for trading, im 50/50 on it as others say the g35 is a pretty decent car. but it seems your mind set is aiming towards the 430 so why not go for it? its a car youre investment is pouring into. might as well get something you like and will enjoy.

If you think the G35 6-speed is slow, I don't think you would like the GS (in terms of acceleration). It's silky smooth though.

I understand the GS430 will not be quicker if any at all, but it was never aimed to be. It is a full size sedan. The G35 on the other hand looks sporty but should be somewhat decent, it is not.

I just want to be able to cruise on the freeways at 80 or 85 no problem. The G35 sounds like its begging me to pull over and stop.

I just got an 01' GS430 a few months ago with 72k miles on the clock. If you're pi$$ed about random rattles, get the GS430. I couldn't believe how new this car feels with 72k. No rattles, dead-still idling, smooth acceleration... Go test drive the GS and I think your decision will be an easy one!

My buddy has a G35 and I am very much happy with my 430. A lot quieter, smoother and has the luxury look. Love it.

G35 = FTL. Lexus = FTW.

Just buy that Lexus, and make your life a lot better!

Oh btw, I've driven a G35, and it felt like I was driving a donkey around, and spanking its' *** with a wooden spoon.
