my friend dan with GS430 is getting intake and cold-air box as soon as the new dragon comes out in March. we will dyno it

bone stock GS430 -> Weapon*R Intake (NO ECU), Weapon*R Cold-Air Box, GReddy Exhaust

The airbox draws air from the hole on the bottom of the headlight which leads to the front bumper.. If you take a look behiond your headlights you may see that the path leads to fresh cold air..

If you use just a shield, it would allow the filter to draw air from the hot engine compartment..

The whole idea is to isolate the filter in a cold area, where you will not draw hot air from, the GS already runs Hot as it is..

Just my 2 cents..

Brent- Clean install, looks great!!

I'm sure all members want to know if YOU can feel the difference?

Now--With or without the stickers...That is the Question

Good Luck,

Jay

Leo,

I'm getting kind of confused with all of these different pictures of the Weapon R intake. What exactly is that middle 'brace' thing that separates two (?) tubes that make up the intake in Brent's pictures? How come the pics in that dyno link you posted dont show the same intake?

Also, what kind of filter is Brent running under that box? The dyno link shows the intake without the Dragon filter, correct?

Are these intakes shipping with Dragon filters now?

Actually Brent is running the V2 Hyper Filter , same as the one in the link.. We don't use the Dragons on these Gs's because the DRagons are only flowed for 4 and small 6cyl engines.. If you go to our site, you'll see that we are making a new Version of the DRAGON Filter one that flows for the BIG BREATHING V8's also..

The reason behind that is the Dual Vewlocity stacks for the 4cyls's they need the velocity to gain more power, where the bigger 6's and 8;'s don't need a second velocity stack, just a very well tuned primary velocity stack..

Since the V2's only have one internal velocity stack, it works better in the meantime than the Dragon..

Thanks for the quick response Leo....

Would it be advisable for the GS300's to run the Dragon filter? I think Sasha currently has this setup?

Any ETA for the newly designed Dragon filters for the big V8s?

Can you explain the difference between the intake piping itself in Brent's pic and the pic in the dyno link? One appears to be two pipes connected together while the other is a single, solid pipe...

Also, is it advisable or even possible to use the Cold Air Ram kit with these intakes and CABs? Sounds like the CAB is drawing the air from the same place in our cars...

thanks for the info!

yeah I just finished my midterm. Give me a dyno shop with decent price and I'll be there.

p.s. it has to be in Southern California.

i belive leo is talking about the 3" dragon filter. Before they introduced the 2002 Dragon they made a couple 4" Dragon Filters. When Leo came up to import fest he hooked me up with one (the 4") with a 3" - 4" adapter. My dragon definatly sucks! (in a good way)
