Default HID Bowls. NON-HID Bowls. Whats So COOL?

whats the diffrence of HID bowls. and non-HID bowls? HID bowls dont have a cutt off or anything. whats so good about it ?

They were made for HID bulbs. Halogen bulb and HID bulbs do not have the same optical characteristics. The bowl itself was designed around the bulb to provide light without glare. Try putting the HID bulb inside a non-hid bowl. You'll get uncontrolled glare where as the HID bowls do not exhibit the same glare.

I wish I took pictures of both bowls before selling them. Halogen bowls almost look like your high beam bowls. HID bowls have a lot of "plates" on them to redirect the intense light.

This is a halogen bowl. As you can see, it's just a smooth bowl that reflects weak halogen light. Put an HID kit in and it creates massive amounts of glare onto oncoming traffic.



This is an HID bowl. You can see it has a lot of reflective "plates" to redirect HID light to make a proper beam pattern.

Hope that helps people understand the difference between HID and halogen bowls. Halogen bowls are simply not designed to accept HID.

correct, also with HID bowls you can see the different in light patterns on the road too
