Default ECU resetting by pulling fuse

HI everyone

I'd like to know before I pull the fuse to reset my ECU, do I have to remove anything b4 i pull it? Will this action make my idling RPM higher than 400? Also, if I use the battery disconnection method, do I have to remove anything first?.....will I hurt myself if I disconnect the terminal? Which terminal do I remove first? Positive? or Negative? Which one should I put back first?

REALLY appreciated and thankyou very much

Take off the negative battery lead for about 15 min. that should do it.

No. Don't know. No. No (unless you stick it in your mouth and hold the other terminal of the battery ). Negative. You only need to remove negative.

My vote is to do the fuse though... it's simpler, there's a fuse holder/remover tool supplied and it takes a minute.

When I reset my ECU by pulling the fuse.... I put it in drive....the car went reverse:eek: I't turns out I put the fuse in backwards. So I reveresed the fuse and the car drove normal. It was so embarrassing going to get gas in reverse

That was a joke if you didn't get it. If you have nav, only thing that resets is the time and your driving position.

so how long did u drive in the reserve gear?

BTW, so I just loosen the bolts on the negative terminal, and wait for a while and then put the terminal and bolts back, then I'll have my ECU reset, am I right?
