Has anyone used 235/50/17 tires? I'm dizzy caused I've used the online tire calculator so many times
I want to put the largest tire possible on my 99 GS300, using GS400 OEM 17x8 5 spoke wheels. (wheels are like pic below)

I guess my question would be why?
I hate the look of "buffalo" tires on stock wheels.
I see this done on Civics a lot and it looks horrid. (i.e. 195/70-15 instead of OE 195/65-15).
Are you going for a Donk look? Trying to find cheaper tires?
Two caveats of doing this: slower acceleration and worse around-town mileage.
You're basically changing the final drive ratio when doing this.

235/50/17 is just a bit thicker (sidewall, not tread) than stock. should be a problem, until you corner hard enough that the softer sidewall will argue with your steering input.
I had went 225/45/17 in a 7.5x17 rim before (not on the Lex), I don't see why can't you use it.

"Buffalo tires" that's hilarious lol I know just the look you're talking about. lol
My reasoning was along these lines. My stock tire for my GS300 is a 215/60/16 which has a 26" diameter at which my speedo matches GPS mph readings. 235/50/17 have a 26.3 diameter and 245/45/17 are 25.6 diameter.
