Hey guys,

I recently purchased my CPO 2004 GS300 Pearl White(?) from Lexus of Rockville Centre, NY. It had some paint chips on the hood, fender, and the bottom passenger side of the front bumper is scratched. When I took the car home, the dealer gave me a "We Owe You" receipt that states a FULL bumper spray and "touch-up" on the hood.

One day when I went to take care of some paperwork, I saw a lady doing touch-up on a RX330 but I didn't see the results.

Being that it is a pearl paint job, should I let them do the touch up? I know pearl is a 3 stage process.

touch up itself is a tedious process and the pearl white is one of the most difficult colors to match right. Verify that they will guarantee a match, get it in writing if you have to, and let them match it. If they dont match it make they respray the whole thing.

 

yea i agree that white pearl is one of the hardest to touch up/color match. As it grows older, white paint tends to yellow and dis-color. If they dont get it right, have them respray the whole thing and pay the difference or negotiate the right terms.

If they gave you a "WE OWE YOU" then legally they are entitled to doing the job right. I work for a reputable Toyota dealership so you should have ZERO worries since it is written on paper.

 

let them do it and if your not happy, have them re-do it! pearl is tricky.
