Default noise turns out to be control arm

I have this weird clinging noise when I go over bumps. It sounds like 2 wrenches hitting each other. When I went to lexus they said there was play in my upper control arms and radius arms. They wanted to charge me 1539.12 for the arms and 679.80 for the radius arms. Is that too much $. Should I call up carson toyata and order the parts and take my car somewhere else? Any suggestions? Oh and I have a 99 gs4.

Is the arm bent or the bushings very worn out? If the bushings are worn you, you can buy a set of Daizen bushings and have it installed for less than $500. Is the quote for parts only or parts + labor?

the lexus service rep said that there is some play. He did not say it was bent or broken. but would that make that metal clinging sound?

Since you already modified your car, go with the Daizen bushings and have a shop install them. The lexus shop is a ripoff. You can do it for half as much at a Toyota dealer, but they will probably not install aftermarket parts.
