So I broke off a vacuum line nipple off the box--what do you recommend? New "vacuum recovery box" or delete it altogether but then do what with the vacuum lines?

Try to repair it if you can. Its just plastic so most quality glues or epoxy's should do the trick. Its not a high heat or moving part either so it should work fine.
That's what I was thinking, too... What about when an aftermarket intake is added--what happens to this box?
With an aftermarket intake that resonator is unused. That is part of the reason why a stock intake is quiet and aftermarket ones have more induction noise.

I may stand corrected. I just got my GS and assumed it was like other Lexus cars I had. I'm still learning the specifics of the GS. Hopefully someone with more specific GS knowledge and fill you in.
