I recently got the urge to wrap the center portion of my hood, my roof, my rear deck lid, and my spoiler in flat black vinyl. But after receiving my first quote, I am quickly taken back by the idea. The quote I received today, for materials and labor, was “around $1000, maybe more”. And we all know that when the quote is given over the phone for “around” a figure, that we should probably add a few hundred $ to get the total. I was expecting to pay maybe $500, at the most, for the complete job. So if you guys don’t mind me asking, how much did you spend on your vinyl roofs, and is a grand+ asking too much for what I want to do?
well, i wanted to first try it out with a temporary medium, to see if I like it enough to make it permanent. i have never seen a two tone flat black/gloss black combonation done before, especially on a 2GS, so i have nothing to judge off of.
that sounds way too expensive.. JUst paint if you like it. I can tell you that not all colors can pull it off. silver/red/and white are the only colors I would do it on.
Your car is black already. I rather have a all-shiny black car. No offense, but spending over $1000 to make your Lexus "dull flat black" on top is ridiculous.
Yeah, I dont think a Black Shiny/Black Flat would look right. I'm with the comment about how it would look like an unfinished pain job, or it would look like you are having pain issues... Just my thoughts, it's your ride so do what makes you happy...
