Of course you can always use the tried and trued way, dirve, fillup, and then devide the trip by the gallons of gas purchased. I used to get 23mph in my 02 GS 300. I was never able to get more than that even on long roade trips with cruise set at 70mph.
thats what I do...keep reciepts and just write down at how many miles I filled up and I let excel do the rest.
The last 2 tanks I've used were around 10mpg lol. Then again I'm running on E85 and fill up the tank for around $50. And the fact that I went to the track on the first tank didn't help much with fuel economy.
Since the 2nd gen GS does not have an onboard computer, it is difficult to get accurate mpg results. The best way to get accurate mpg readings is to purchase a plug & play scan guage. You can find good deals online for them.

I'm going to double check the mileage in distance with my toyota 4runner, 96 4runner with 164,000 miles, original battery and rear brakes, believe that? lol I'm the original owner, the wife drives it now. Toyota and Lexus the only way to go, best vehicles on the planet.
I got over 400+ on a full tank going over between 70-75 mph.
From where i live to ATL, is over 400 miles and my gas light came on when i got to the ATL area, which also means i can go a little farther if i wanted it to, if i wanted to completely run out
