i dono i average about 360 to 370 miles a tank.. i drive about 70mph average on my commute and use cruise controll most of the time.... this is coming from a gs430!!! i woulda thought that a gs300 would easily surpass that... maybe because its a I6?

you might just want to invest in some new brakes locked up calipers = a very expensive fix

In top gear that equates to, between 55-58 mph, boring! I drive exactly 352 miles every week and never in traffic. This week I'm trying not to exceed 2400 rpm, 60-63 mph. I can't take that 55-58, BORING lol. Will let you know what I average for mpg this week. 2004 GS300.
You might be able to achieve more mpg. if you learn the technics of "Hyper miling"!

I tried this on the highway let me tell you this is crazy do you know how slow I was going compared to everyone else. I never seen so my fingers coming my way the average speed on the I-290, I-88, I-355 is 80 plus miles an hour this will never work here in Chicago, now I'm not to sure about New York

It is not bad, but not extraordinary, I think.
The best I got was on a round-trip to Tahoe (~350mi): 25.2 mpg with a V8. I drove 75-80mph.

55 is a no go for me. I live in northern cali and I tear it up on the 680 freeway going between home and school going 85-95mph at all times. Around town i just have to punch it when the light turns green (gotta reset the ECU more often . If i wanted good milage i would sell my lexus and go find my decripid nissan sentra. Although... im droppin my baby on the dubs with some tien coilovers this summer and it does look cool when your driving slow with a drop and it feels faster when your lower to the ground.

I stayed below 2000 rpms and increased my mpg from 20 to 25 on a 99 GS400 on regular unleaded. It's painfully slow though.

I heard 2500rpm. I always get about 400 - 420 miles to the tank. Average of say 40mph to and from work I am getting about 22mph. I let the pops use the car for a roadtrip from Chicago to Colorado. He calculated 29mph @ 65 mph. Not hard to achieve.

Now it should be better after having some new sparks in while having the timing belt / water pump changed.

Could somebody compare the car computer vs a manual check?. The Corolla XRS is near those numbers. Incredible!

I've been checking my MPG manually since I dont have the fancy computer in my 01' GS430. I got 17.9 mpg in sport mode driving like... well... myself. I got 19.0 mpg on the next tank in sport mode tryin to gun it less than average. Now I've got it out of sport mode and I'm going for 25 mpg trying to drive like a panty-waste. It really does just depend on how heavy your foot is and how well you can coast thru stops, avoid stop/go crap.

I had a Corolla XRS too a few months ago, and I probably averaged less than 25 mpg in that just because the 6-speed was a blast to work thru
