Default GS400 rough idle WITH AC on

my car started feeling weird this past week, where the car would idle fine without the AC on, but with the AC, the car idles pretty rough. any ideas?

i've tried cleaning the throttle body, seafoaming (lots of smoke), cleaned my maf, air filter, seafoam in the gas and crank, and reset the ecu. and yes, new ngk iridium ix plugs were put in last month.

thanks,
GSquicksilver

Are you sure it's not the engine mount?

This happens to me in my 02' Mustang. It idles very low (200rpm) with the A/C on.

Are you on original engine mounts? If so, that might be it. My car use to idle fine until I turned on the AC. Had the mounts replaced and the car have never felt newer.

But it could also be your AC compressor. Do you hear any odd noises?

Check if your compressor is fine. I honestly don't know what it could be, but check to see if your AC needs to be recharged.

GSteg,

if you don't mind me asking, where did you get your mounts replaced and how much does the job cost? thanks.

i'm getting mine replaced , it'll probally run from 600 -1000 dollars for all mounts including tranny. $1000 wasn't even a dealer quote.

dusouth, avoid going to the place where you got quoted. Thats a large amount of money to be spent on mounts!!

Our cars only have 3 mounts: (2) engine mounts and (1) transmission mount. The engine mounts are $100 each and the transmission mount is $70. Just get the shop to do the engine mount. You can do the transmission mount at home in about 15 minutes. It's very easy.
The engine mounts should only take about 2-3 hours to install.

GSquicksilver, where in CA are you? I can refer you to a shop that can do your mounts for a good price.
