I think that other markets 2gs have folding mirrors. I have been looking for them too, it seems that they are available, just hard to find.

They have those in Asia. Parking is difficult there so nearly every car has folding mirrors. Even the bottom of the line Toyota/Honda has it. I remember one time I had to crawl out of the back hatch since the parking was so compact. People here have no idea what compact parking is lol

I was in contact with a Lexus dealer in the UK a while back and they gave me the part numbers for the folding mirrors on a car. I looked them up here and we can get them through local US dealers. They are listed here as Taiwan spec. The mirrors, front door ecu's, and mirror control switch all have a Taiwan spec option that match up to the folding mirror #'s provided by the UK dealer. They should be the ones your looking for. I dont know if you need the door ecu for sure. Maybe you can jump the signal straight from the switch to the mirror. Though, It will be expensive for all new parts, I do believe it can be done.

What?! I have folding side mirrors. Is it not stock then? I have a 98' w/HID and nav. Maybe the previous owner had them installed? Anyways, I've folded them many times, especially when parking in the street.

These are motorized auto folding mirrors like on the LS430. You have them?

I wonder if you can buy the JZS147 power folding mirrors and put the 161 shell over them.

Thats what Im saying. Go to a Lexus dealer and ask them to look up the parts (mirrors, mirror switch, maybe door ecus, etc) in your paint and trim code but specify you need Taiwan spec.

I know I'm pulling this thread up from the dead, but has there been any advancement on this whole thing? Has anyone actually ordered these parts? Anyone have the correct part numbers? One more thing we will need is the dashboard panel filler that the buttons attach to. I don't believe we will have the little flip-out coin box anymore according to a pic I saw on the net and a couple Aristo brochures of mine I looked at. Therefore we may need to know this part number in black, gray, tan as well if they are separate from the buttons. If nobody has part numbers, does anyone know which lexus/toyota dealer has a non-US parts catalog they can look up these parts in? Are there any real photos of this in 98-05 GS/Aristos? Lastly, was this called the Toyota Aristo or Lexus GS in Taiwan during 98-05?

Thanks in advance.
