The passenger side mirror shell is cracked for my 2000 gs300 the mirror works fine. Lexus doesn't sell the shell by itself, just the whole assembly but it comes painted to match my car...Lexus sells the mirror with memory ($490.00) and without memory ($221.00)
My question is, if I get the cheaper assembly and swith out the mirrors will my mirror fit? work?

So basically are you saying you will be throwing away the guts of a new $221 mirror to use the shell?

Also the guts are not easy to pull out of the shell, unless you want to cut the wiring harness and then solder the wires back together.

I'd suggest to get a used mirror with memory and have it painted to match.
