Default Rims???

Hi, just have some questions about rims.

Currently I have 16" rims, will the 17" or 18" increase more power? Better MPG?

I am looking for a 17" oem star rims, where can I get it? beside dealer or Yeabay...

Thanks!

The bigger the rims, the less MPG you get, and well as lose a little bit of power, and when they are excessively big, your handling starts to suffer as well.

why you're correct! the bigger the rims, the better MPG you get, every inch bigger you get about 5 mpg

thats why everyone rolls in 24s

so throw some 24s on !

(something belongs here)

To really answer your question; generally, the bigger the wheels, the heavier they are. The exception is the material the wheels are made (such as magnesium, carbon fiber, etc) and how they are made>> forged. It is possible to find some lightweight wheels such as BBS, Volk, Work, etc that are 18" or what not and probably lighter than the stock Lexus 16", but those brands are by no means cheap. The car will "feel" faster by reducing unsprung weight on the corners of the car.

It will also become harder to stop the car.
The bigger the wheel the more brake force needed.

This is generally assuming that the by adding a bigger wheel you will also be adding a heavier wheel (which may not ALWAYS be the case).

I really noticed a big difference in breaking after driving a GS with 22" wheels.

if i had it to do all over again i would take the gwap i dropped on my big heavy 20's and put into a nice set of super lightweight 18's and then put some nice sport suspension on it.

when my 20's are on i average about 335 miles a tank of petrol...(haarrrr, i also wanted to say petrol) when i put the stock 16's back on i average about 355 miles a tank, i guess thats about 1.5 mpg less with heavy wheels, right??
