thanks for adding photos to the thread r00kie. here is some other info that will be helpful.

While changing out the LED bulb in my GS400 I learned the receptacle that holds the LED bulb had actually widened over time causing a short in the connection. there is a small copper wire running up the side of the LED bulb that sometimes fails to contact in the receptacle. Simply bend out the wires so they connect when plugging in the LED bulb and you should have a good connection. I know this is basic but this issue is common and something easy to overlook.

Also while disassembling the shifter console, here are some other things I learned that may help others: 1) the LED bulb size is actually #37 for Sylvania (or other) brand at Advance Auto or O'Rielly parts. Some other posts had this as part #74, which does NOT fit. The cost is approx $5.00 for a 2-pack. 2) in the disassembly process i discovered that the flexible black plastic, rectangular piece that goes right under the shifter indicator slot had cracked and broken due to age. After researching diligently, this obscure part is called a "cover slide" and is part no. 35975 or stock part 3597530240 from South Atlanta parts. the parts diagram is located here http://www.lexussouthatlantaparts.co...ze/330619H.jpg. you should be able to google this part no. no problem.

A great post for 1-2-3 steps with photos for disassembling the console/shifter is located here: https://www.clublexus.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=362931
