Default Spacers + Drop advice needed *pics included*

Hi yall, I'm getting springs/spacers soon and I need some tips from those who have come before me. I'd like to get rid of the dreadful "float" for one thing, but keep the softer spring rates and maintain ride quality. I'm not going for a "slammed" look in any way, so keep that in mind. Also don't want my wheels sticking out the side of the car...

BBS wheels are 18x7.5" +42 offset on stock suspension currently. 225/45/18 tires. I was thinking a 25mm spacer in the back and maybe 15mm up front? Espelirs for the drop maybe? help me decide pleeeeaaaasssseeeee

Thanks in advance as usual... for your brilliant, well-educated, invaluable advice guys...

i suggest that you get a ruler and measure the distances for your wheel to be flush with the fenders (height and width-wise).

looks like you might need 25mm spacers though. won't know until you get some measurements!

The DF's drop a little lower than the NF's correct? Does this affect ride quality or are the spring rates pretty similar?

Also, if I measure for the spacers, do I want it to be perfectly flush or tucked in a few mm to avoid rubbing after the drop? Or do I just not need to worry at all since i'm only running 18's?

Thanks guys.

JiBBel, no intention of intruding into your thread, I have a similar question about spacers.

GS300 Tein STech springs w/ GS350 oem 18" 245/40/18.

Thank you

I dunno, that picture may just be angled funny. But the way I just measured was from the top looking down directly over the ruler, sticking out 90 degrees from the rim. I measured from the outside of the rim to the outside of the fender... and saw about 45mm space. My rims are only 7.5" wide with a +42 offset so I'm going with 25mm spacers in the back for sure, and 15mm up front I think.

Just caught a set of Espelir's in the classifieds I'm freaking stoked! Maybe next summer, I can throw a set of Bilstein or L-Tuned shocks to complete the ensemble! Thanks for your advice guys! I feel like I'm making another stride in the ride direction w/ every mod I finish
