Wiring harness changed in 01 and the only difference is the reverse light, everything else is the same.

That's odd, so you would leave the stock harness from the oem taillight and plug those "ac" plugs into where the bulbs go on the stock harness.

Bringing up an old thread after doing a search. I just picked up my friend's '98 2GS and he put some 01-05 tails, but the light bulb out light on the dash is lit. I assume I need a 01-05 taillight harness to cure this problem? If so, where can I get it from? How does it hook up? Thanks!

yeah, you'll need the 01-05 harness. someone did a DIY job somewhere but I think the thread didn't show exactly how...try searching for it.

Yeah it looks alot harder than it really is, but you have to make sure you get the right ones in the right plugs. Its good to have a helper to turn on the lights and brakes to ensure you get them right.

Here is the set on my GS4004

Hey sorry to jack your thread, but I have a question regarding these ebay tails. Im about to pick a set up for $150. Do you think this is a fair price? He said he got them for $250. Theyve been used for 6 months.

I had the same issue. I need to upload my pics. One of the sockets is like a dummy socket.
