Default Navigation Update

I'm trading in my 2003 GS300 for a 2004 RX330. Both have the gen 2/3 navigation system. I have the current 2006 update in the GS as well as the original disc. Does anybody know if I can remove the newest disc and replace it with the original and still have the navigation work properly on the GS? Or do I need to leave the current disc in because it wrote the updates to the hard drive? I'd much prefer to be able to install the updated disc in the RX instead of paying for it again. Thank you in advance.

Default I don't know for sure, but I believe this question was asked before, and the answer..

...was "no"; once you've inserted an updated disk, the older disk will no longer function.

sorry I didnt read this earlier.

Yes you can. You might have to pull the navi fuse in the trunk to reset the Navi ECU back to factory state (which you can use any version navi with it)

Next time, ask in advance
