Default GS300 - a high rev engine?

I have my 2000 GS300 for a few months now and recently on the highway I noticed it cruises at higher RPMs than my other Toyota 6 cylinders (Sienna & 4Runner). I don't have the exact number but I think the RPM was 3K traveling around 75 mph. Does this sound about right? The other 2 vehicles spin below 3K even at 80.

I'm running Volk 18"s staggered... 245/40 & 275/35 respectively. That's the correct sizing I believe and shouldn't matter right?

If so, is this engine designed for high revs in general?
