Ok lets say I do get 19s. What size tires do I need to get for the RPM? I dont want the low profile because I dont want to risk bending or cracky my rims if I were to go over potholes. What would be a good decent size?
40 series too low for you? That's stock for 18's on the 3GS--should be a good blend of appearance/fit to body, ride, suitable rim protection, and performance.

245/40/18 is the 3GS spec, and that's an appropriate size for I guess an 8 or 8.5" wide rim. A wider rim would presumably call for a wider tire, e.g. a 255 width.
The next profile series down is 35. That is really getting into low profile. I thought you wanted to avoid that.
