wow sorry to here. thats one of the worse feelings in the world. same thing happened to my old car. smashed the drivers window, ripped the dash apart, stole the headunit and popped the trunk and stole the amp, stole my jacket and my girls jacket. thankfully they didnt notice the screens i had in the visors or the ps2 in the glove box.
good luck on getting insurance to cover it though. they really only cover damage to the car. if you had alot stolen out of the car, try home owners insurance. i was going to do that when i had all my stuff stolen but the home owners deductilbe was 1000 and i think i totaled everything up to 1300 that was stolen so it wasnt really worth it. i hope it all works out for you bro.

In most cases, personal property would have to be claimed under your homeowners. Luckily the only personal thing they took from the car was a beat up pair of loafers

Always! Always! Always! lock your trunk with the key lock by the steering wheel if you have a system or other goodies in there. It's never really an inconvienience to just use the button on the key to pop the trunk. The only time you cant use the button is when the key is in ignition and car is running. When i have to park my car in places like Berkeley, Oakland, San Francisco, and San jose, i always throw my detachable faceplate, and cd book in the trunk so as not to entice any onlookers. Just dont park your car in East San Jose at 1 in the morning in a Pep Boys parking lot and leave it over night. I learned the hard way

Always a good idea after installing aftermarket electronics, wheels, and other add-ons to get a new photo inspection courtesy of your insurance company if you seek compensation/replacement of those items in the event of theft or vandalism. A few dollars per month on your policy due to the add-ons far outweighs the cost out of your pocket in the event of theft with no insurance company validation.
