Default Wheel gurus, please chime in......

Okay, i've got a line on a nice set of chrome wheels for my gs. The thing is, theyre 18x7.5, et 45....i'm well aware i need some spacers to get them looking right, but my question is will they even fit? As far as I've seen most of you guys have been running like +38 and under. I'm a bit new to this offset stuff so please help me out.

now what am i looking at in terms of looks with such a high positive offset? i'd planned on spacers but what size do you think to get them near flush (they're only 18's, i dont see needing fender mod)

Your spacer will be dependent on your ride height. What are you lowered on? Also, if your gonna be dumped to the floor and trying to be flushed you will either need to have strecthed tires/shave ur fenders or pull. With a 7.5 width rim I don't see how you can really strecth your tires. If you run say a 195 I don't think that is safe with the weight of the GS.

to get flush you will need pretty massive spacers. you can use the wheel offset calculator. i have been able to determine that at a reasonable coilover type drop on 19s you want ~+20-23 on a 9" and 10" using stretch. You have 18s so your car may sit a little lower, but then you cant get much stretch from 7.5s, so say you want around ~+25 or so, which still isnt really aggressive.
Using the offset calculator:
18x7.5 +35 is 39mm further in than 18x9 +25 therefore = 40mm spacer front
18x7.5 +35 is 52mm further in than 18x10 +25 therefore = 50mm spacer rear

I say....PASS on these wheels....get staggered set. If not staggered...then get something wider than those 18x7.5 ones.

haha well i am very limited as far as selection....i have to either trade my audio stuff plus cash for the rims or sell the audio stuff and take that cash, plus cash, and pay for them. Neither of which has come close to happening as of late. And I'm not dropped at all....well yet. The car is old (01, 128k), and i'm basically just trying to have it last me through the next 2-1/2 years of school but im figuring the struts will be going soon, by that time i hope to have some extra $$ saved and grab some struts/springs and drop her a bit. Only thing, RI winters won't be forgiving to a lowered RWD car.

haha i'm so desperate at this point for a set of rims I'm even throwing in multiple free details for these people's cars hahaha

18x7.5"? The OE 17s are 8" wide.

I just couldn't go backwards in this department. No way, no how.
And a 245 tire looks pretty silly on a 7.5" wide wheel.

225/40-18 is more than likely what they have on them - they will
look too short. Especially if the car is not lowered.

haha i'm on stock 16s though, 215-60-16 (big for fuzion HRi btw)

i dunno, ideally i'd like to get some 19s on there and eventually drop her but for right now i have nearly no cash, just this damn audio stuff that nobody seems to be buying these days.

+1. I'd wait to find and save for a better set.

Go for it man! I've got a non-staggered 18" setup for the time being and it's not too shabby. I'm running 18x7.5" +42 with a 225/45/18 tire all around. Dropped on Espelirs springs with a 20 mm spacer in the back and life is good. Might not look like a show car, but it makes me happy for a daily driver
