makes you wonder what they put in before then...
i don't think so. royal purple sponsors nearly all the shows on powerblock (ugh, yes, i admit i was formerly addicted) but there's definitely some influence from royal purple that somehow made that gain. maybe they used the wrong type of lube to kill the friction up a little or went from dino to synthetic.
as political as syndicated national tv is, i doubt this is just a clever discovery by those two beanbags on horsepower tv.

When I lived in Mexico, we had an unofficial Royal Purple salesperson who I let in at our track but he would only sell me their gear oil buy the carton ![Frown](https://www.clublexus.com/forums/images/smilies/frown.gif)
Nevertheless, he had a guy near where I worked downtown who had a very popular tuning shop along with a dyno. He tested this on one vehicle, an MKIV Golf and got +4 hp after changing it to Royal Purple. The problem is that I have no idea what the Golf had been running before and neither did its owner. And add into the fact that the owner estimated he had been running such oil for at least 4000 miles or so. I also suggested trying some other oils like Mobil 1, Redline, Motul, Liqui Moly and even offered to buy some very expensive (in Mexico) Castrol 0W30 just to test it out, but nothing further ever became of this. However, there are many at my track that swear by RP and use it, claiming they felt a butt dyno difference.

Someone told me that RP foams up in the engine....as you know foaming is bad....causes friction. Can anyone confirm this?
RP should do a comparison with Amsoil.

I will believe 8hp if they put in NEW regular dino oil afterwards with a report of 8whp loss, then drain the oil to put in the previous RP fluids and then finally report a 8whp gain.
You need a back to back to back to back to back dyno run to show 8whp. Anything around 5whp can be influenced by the dyno itself. Wait an hour after your dyno run..your results will vary even if you didn't do anything to the car.

I just changed my oil from conventional oil to Royal Purple this weekend. I have 99,875 miles on my vehicle. I haven't nor do I plan on running a dyno on my car but I can tell you this, there is a slight increase in response from the oil change. Additionally, the engine seems to run MUCH smoother than before.
