stretch = only drive if necessary. i dont bother with myths of throwing it in neutral down a hill, the floor it then take your foot off, etc. i'm just more conscious of whats necessary and whats not.

I used to have to fill up about 2-3 times a week in the GS so $120-180 ish. That's just around town driving. At one point my mileage was so bad that I was getting about 7mpg. I just picked up an Altima V6 for a daily driver a few days ago and I'm glad because $20 lasts me a few days. My weekly fuel expense should be about $50 per week now
The best part, the Altima is much much faster than a stock GS300 and is still able to keep ahead of most cars out there AND it's "relatively" fuel efficient
Oh crap, I've defected to Nissan. I still love driving the GS around, but I just don't do it as often anymore lol.

Damn, am amazed at what some people who claim the GS to betheir daily drivers spend. I need to stop driving pointlessly. If i can get my average/week tounder $90, i swear i will not even care that a V8 is uneconomical and not for this current economy.
when u say u make it strecth, do u use tactics like letting the car roll freely when on a slope, or speeding then taking foot off gas etc...what do u practice?
Lets hear/read some more guys...

I'm a firm believer that what is reflected on paper is sometimes very different than real life results. Sure, a V6 or 4 cylinder may be technically better at gas mileage, but what's going to happen to your mileage when you drive up a canyon or on a trip with passengers and luggage, and that dinky 4 cylinder is floored just to get out of the way of oncoming traffic? It's the same reason why many people have bought the GS300 for mileage reasons, but then in real life report about the same mileage as the V8 GS400... and now they don't have the fin, wider tires, and extra power when they need it. I don't know, it's just so hard to say. Mileage is based on so many factors, so I'm really not ready to throw the V8 under the bus- even with these gad prices.
