Air conditioner noise
Ok, first of all I did a search on here and found nothing related to this which is very interesting to me.
Anyway, today when I was in my garage, I started my car with the AC on. I heard a little bit of knocking but not the kind coming from valves knocking. As I popped the hood, I couldn't tell where it was coming from but a few seconds later, this loud humming noise, kinda sounding like a horn (not the Lexus horn) or a loud humming noise. I tunred the AC off and the noise stopped. Turned AC back on and within 10 seconds the noise was back. When I was driving, I had to have the AC on for a little bit. South Carolina heat is no joke in August. 94 degrees today with a heat index of about 100 degrees. I noticed that the noise was not loud enough to be heard over the radio on a low volume setting but if i opened the door, once again, it sounded like someone beeping a horn. Now I know why ppl have been looking at me all funny these last few days.
Can anyone tell me what is going on?
