Yeah, I actually asked him about it the other day and he said he couldn't fix it, so I don't know. He said he would find me a body shop though, nice guy.

Welcome to CL.

In the time being, you may want to tape off the surrounding paint and sand the rust down. then maybe you can apply a primer or an application to prevent further rust or the spread the present rust.

Talk to body shops, ask around, get quotes.
