Default Drive Belt

I kinda hate to ask this questions but:

What is considered to be the "drive belt"?

Why, is your belt needing to get changed? They start chirping like crazy after a while.

Yeah it's pretty noisy when it's cold outside. The stealership also recommended that I get it replaced soon. I'm thinking of a goodyear gatorback since everyone on here seems to endorse these. Heck I might even do it myself since it sounds so easy.
