Default Broken GS430 passenger door

My 2001 GS430 auto lock on the passenger door is broken. Just happened yesterday. It will not lock when I push the auto door lock or open from passenger or driver side. It will only open or lock manually when I use the key or I move the door lock with hands. Does anyone know what I need to do to fix this?

open it up and take a peek
the way you're describing it,sounds like all the rods are connected from the handles to the latch. i'm guessing door lock actuator...good luck

save yourself $$$

you just got to read thru 15+ pages of thread but TOTALLY worth it. Will only cost you about $10 and a couple of hours of patients. Good luck

An actuator only costs $10? did you forget a zero?
If that's right, that's probably the cheapest thing you'll ever replace on that car.

did YOU forget to read the thread?

it is the cheapest thing to replace, its not the whole actuator, just the little motor inside. There like $10 for 5 on eBay.

I guess i shoulda read a little further, huh? Replacing the little motor inside is a great idea. Wonder if a hobby shop would have them locally? That way it can be seen in person before you have to mail order it. Hopefully i'll never have to find out first hand
