Default Just bought a 2000 GS 400. Have Questions.

I just got back home from picking this car up. So far I've gotten 1 hour of sleep over the past 36 hours between flights and driving home. I have a few questions, and I know there is a section here, but please help me out if you can before telling me to use the search feature.

It's a 2000 Platinum Edition. Has 36,000 miles on it. Has every option except Navigation from what I could gather.

I didn't get a manual with it, so I am at a loss for what I need to get.

Plug change mileage recommendation?

I am going to change the oil with Mobil 1 Synth. Does this car use 5w30? How many quarts?

What mileage should you flush the trans fluid? On all my other cars, I do a pan gasket and filter. What does Lexus recommend?

The stereo sounds really nice. It's got a sub on the back deck. IS this standard for GS400's or just the Special Editions? I have read that some GS models got the Nakamichi system...how do you tell? Mine says Lexus Premium Sound on the stereo and has a 6 disc changer.

What does the ECT or ETC do?...right next to the seat warmers. It looks like it's on but you can turn it off.

Is there an advantage to messing with the power or snow settings? I just left it alone for now.

Any other maintenance type things I should do right away?

Diff fluid perhaps...coolant...brake fluid...power steering fluid flush?

Also, I only got one key. I am going to go to Lexus to get another. Is this the way to go, or should I get one off of ebay? Only issue I would think is programming the remote.

There is 3 buttons right in front of the moonroof. Are they made to substitute as your garage door opener?

BTW, I bought this car without ever driving one, and I love it. This thing hauls ***, and I was getting 28.9 mpg at 75 mph for all 1150 miles it took me to get home. I like the tiptronic steering wheel buttons and the Xenon headlights are really bright.

Anyways. Thanks to those who respond. And normally I do a search, but there are so many things I need help with and I'm sure that most of these questions are known from heart by many long time GS fans.

And yes...I'm going to get a manual as well. Someone sell me theirs?

And...my car looks very similar to your 430. Just a plain Silver GS400. I'll get a pic or two up in the next few days.

that's the reason I bought it. Carfax came back clean, and I made a mistake. I bought it with 33,000 on it, and now it has just a hair over 35,000 after driving it home and around my area.

It looks really clean! I actually have a manual for sale. But it's from a 1998 GS400 with navigation.

Not sure if this still works, but if it does, you can request a free manual.

Lexus Kid, I think you mixed one thing. The plugs don't need to be changed every 5k. Oil changes should be done every 5k and plugs should be done every 100k or when you do the timing belt service.
