Question 2000 GS 400 Platinum Edition, good price or not?

Hey I was wondering if u guys could help me out?
I was searching the internet for 2000 GS 400s', particularly Platinum Editions and I found one that is:
2000 GS400 Platinum Edition
39,500mi.
Silver w/blk int.
Power Steering, Power Windows, Power Locks, Power Mirrors, Power Driver Seat, Power Passenger Seat, Air Conditioning, Rear Window Defog, Cruise Control, Tilt/Telescopic Steering, Sun Roof, Privacy Glass, Fog Lights, Xenon Headlamps, Htd Mirrors, AM/FM Cassette, CD Changer, Premium Speakers, ABS, Driver and Passenger and Side Airbags,
The price he is asking is $35,000
Is that fair or not?
The guy said it's all highway mi. & it's in excellent shape.
Your input would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.

Default GS400 Platinum

I got a 2000 gs4 platinum certified from the dealer. For 36k. It has 14,100 miles and comes with Nav. You may want to keep checking around. The only problem is there aren't that many Platinum gs4's out there. Good luck, you may be able to talk him down. He is askind close to the retail. NEVER PAY RETAIL

What exactly is it about the Platinum GS's that you like?

If you can overlook the 'Platinum' part, that opens you up to many, many more 2000 (and 98,99) GS's that are on the market with the features/colors that you may like.

The only thing that I can think that are enviable on a Platinum Edition GS is the perforated leather (much sportier) and the Black Pearl badging, but the black pearl can be retrofitted on any GS.

Good luck in your search.

i would say ~$33k is more reasonable.....also have the same question as intellectual....i am sure you are not limiting your choice to "platnium edition"...patience will pay-off(80%) in used car shopping...

I am also looking for a reg. 2000 GS400 Silver w/ blk. int. , but I would prefer a Platinum. I know it sounds stupid, but I think it's a neat car to have.

You also forgot bird's eye maple wood, and different rims.

Lexus Pride --

Yea i know about those two too, I own a Platinum Edition

I didn't think to mention them because the wood pieces can be easily retrofitted and the 'different' rims are definitely not a plus.

Ask your insurance company what the car is worth. They are usually lower than everyone else.
