Default farewell

sold my GS400 on Aug 20th, i've got a few things for sale in the for sale section and then after that i probably won't be around CL anymore. i just wanted to thank everyone for their support over the years, with both my 1st gen and 2nd gen GS.

unfortunately the story of my former GS400 didn't end well. i just found out a couple of days ago that the new owner wrecked it on Aug 24th, in the process killed himself and one of his passengers. apparently he was speeding around a curve that was known to be dangerous and has had fatalaties before. it's been very surreal thinking about how just over two weeks ago i was driving my kids around in that car and then just a few days later it was totally destroyed with two young guys losing their lives.

please be careful driving your cars around the street.

wow? i heard about that crash on the local news a few weeks ago. a lexus packed with teenagers and a 27 year old speeding somewhere in ellenwood, ga.

what a weird and as you put it surreal series of events. i could understand if you decide to stay away for a while. that's serendipity at its simplest........

takecare sbgs400, come back from time to time to share your newest vehicle obsession.

GSteg thanks for the kind words, you've been very helpful, especially with suspension and brake problems.

new ride is below:

k.r.e.a.m. that's the one.. i missed it on the news, just happened to find out about it by chance this week. seems like it was a pretty terrible wreck, car flipped two times and then hit a pole. totally destroyed with the AJC report saying there were pieces everywhere. i didn't know the driver before he bought the car, but he seemed like a nice guy that had his stuff together.

When I was 16, without my license, I took my Dad's 6 week old Corvette out for a joyride. I'd done it at least 4 times before with my Mom's Oldsmobile so I thought it was no big deal.

Needless to say, I rolled the Vette 2 1/2 times before it rested upside down with me in it...without a scratch.

People don't realize how powerfull the GS4 series is and often tend to drive it past it's handling levels. This is a very sad story, but at the end of the day, I'm glad you are telling this story and that your children have a father to raise them. My heart goes out to the people that lost their lives.
