do you know that for sure? have you seen a q45's output?
ill agree the ls430's output is much better, but the q45 is no slouch, IF it is an authentic q45. That's why a lot of guys are running them, the output is a significant improvement over the reflector bowl, and it just looks kinda sick.

You basically said exactly what I was going to say. Fake Q45's output is bad becuase they are Fake non hid reflectors that people buy off ebay or get scammed by some lighting retro company saying they are real when they aren't- won't name anyone specific.
Real Q45's are not bad they are a great upgrade over stock, Yes I agree ls430 is better stronger but that Q45 are horrible I can't agree with.

Since we're on the topic, anyone gone from stock HID's to Q45's?
I had a pair of Q45 projectors before I even bought the car since stock HID's seemed pretty rare around here, I ended up with stock HID's and the projectors are still sitting in a box. I'm not thrilled with the stock output, I remember my old 5 series retrofit having much better, even output than the GS reflectors but I've heard mixed opinions on whether the Q45's are much of an upgrade. They look sick and that's the main motivation to do it at this point but I'd still like an upgrade in performance. I'm on the fence whether I want to do the retrofit or sell the projectors and use the cash for something else.

Output or the actual headlights? If you search for "Q45" and "LS430" in the lighting section you can find a bunch of pics of people's retrofits. There's only a few output shots of a Q45 retrofit from HIDplanet but find the thread where JNC posted output shots of someone's LS430 retrofit from there; they're amazing!
those are the real deal.
