Default HID Fogs Don't Work...Need Help

I recently ordered 2 HID kits for my car. The headlights came out perfect but the kit that i installed in the fogs don't work and i don't know why. The regular bulbs work fine. I also tried the kit from the headlights in the fogs lights and still no go. How do i get the HIDs to work in the fogs?

Where did you get the kits from? Did you get a wiring harness or does it all run off the factory fog light plugs?

you probably need a relay set up to power them off the cars battery and use the power to the fogs as an on off switch.

a buddy had the same problem with a cheap non digital hid kit for his car and that is what solved his problem

The kit is running off the factory harness.

I'd recommend buying a wiring harness as that may solve your problem and will be much safer and more reliable. The factory wiring wasn't meant to handle the power surge needed to fire the bulbs when you first turn the lights on.

I believe you can get a harness pretty cheap from mobilehid, a forum sponsor. Check the lighting section for posts by Cliffud and look at the link in his signature for CL specials, I think a very good price on the harness and relay is on that page. You'll have to look at the pics and make sure the plugs will connect to your ballasts.

my money is here. Also, use a test light to make sure you are getting power there. Some HID kits upon start up will draw about 16=18 AMPs just for a sec. you may have popped a fuse.

87 to battery positive
85 to ground
30 to your ballasts
86 trigger from your factory fogs.
