Default Dashboard rattles when I turn on the fan

Hello everyone, I know there has been many topics regarding rattling in the GS and I have searched for them but could not find one where the dashboard rattles when I turn on the climate control fan. It is not even the A/C (that button is off), only the fan speed. It is annoyingly loud and any help to get rid of it would be appreciated.

I hope it is not the A/C compressor or belt (which I don't think so)

Thanks

Could be the blower motor itself. Or maybe leaves or debris caught in the blower motor. This would cause it to make noise or "rattle" as you described it. You should drop the motor and take a peek inside. I have not done mine yet so i don't know how easy (or hard) it is. Good luck!

So I have an update. I think it is the blower motor. I turned on the car earlier and I turned on the fan (AC off) to low (still has rattling) and turned it on to Hi (where the sound got really loud of a blowing fan) After a few minutes, the sound changed to a squealing noise, with air still blowing out of the vents.

I am thinking I need a new blower motor or a re-lubrication of the motor.

Thanks!

I do not think it is you blower motor, most of the time it's just leaves or paper from the glove box. There is an easy way to check for trash in the blower motor. Just remove the A/C filter and use a mirror or just check with you fingers for trash. There is a very good DIY for replacement of the A/C filter in this forum. Good Luck

Ok I will check it tomororw. I just replaced the A/C filter like 3 months ago..either way, I will have it checked by my mechanic this weekend, just for piece of mind.

Thanks!
