Default 1200+ mile trip in my 98 gs400!!

just got back from vacation and first real road trip in my 98 gs400. It has 165000 miles and road smooth with no problems all the way there and back. a total of a round 1300 miles. The only isue i had was yesterday before i came back the tailight out indicator lamp came on and there are no bad lights. Anybody know how to fix this. it is the brake like being it doesnt come on when i turn the car on untill i push brake. I also go 29mpg. that is awesome being 3 passengers and truck packed full and back seats with a/c the whole way at 75mph

it's probably your brake lights....they have double fillament...if you checked at night, the park lamp might be on, but the brake lamp might be out...if you checked in the daylight, you brake light might work, while one of your parklamp is bad...check both the inner and outer lights.

I'm thinking he used cruise control... It holds the throttle much steadier than any human can.

damn right. held it at 75mph. also was on some mountains through jellico and north carolina. so benefited from some down hill, but i would say equaled out fromt he up hill.

i also did some much needed maintenance before trip. reset ecu, cleaned tb and mass air meter. tranny flush and timing belt and water pump change. Did a brake job on front and changed rear end fluid, airfilter and cabon filter. I was getting around 26mpg going back and forth to work before i cleaned tb and mass air. I believe that was what gave me the best results. and check this out im still on original plugs. need to do that next. mass air and tb cleaning i highly recommend. my car idles so smooth and now it wheel spin tires without torque braking it.

and here is how i calculated my miles. i filled it up with 93 octane. we stopped around 370 miles later and i filled back up. then divided gallons into miles and got my result. i couldn't get the second fillup on the way back to avg it being nobody would let me fill up do to so called gas shortages, but my miles where around the same place as before so i would say i was with it a gallon or so. needless to say i am impressed being my wifes 05 pontiac g6 only gets 29 on the highway with a v6 and is no were near the ride.
