Default How to remove gas cap door

I've tried searching, but couldn't find anything. My gas cap door recently got dented pretty bad and I was going to buy one to replace it with rather then fixing it. I looked at the door and didn't know how to remove it. Does anyone know how to remove it? Please let me know.

Thanks

time to resurrect an old thread...

if anyone has info on an easy way to do this on a 2GS, like now lol, i would appreciate it...

i thought that the two fasteners at the hinge (pictured/red arrows) were torx or hex head the first time i checked a while ago, but when i went to remove it today i see that they are actually rivets or something.. i dont know if this means they are permanently attached or welded from the inside of the panel (f@#*) or if there is some easier way to make this happen that im just not seeing.

thanks in advance

They have to be drilled out. They are rivets.
