Well, since you reset the Ecu, it cleared the code. What you should have done was have it read first to find out what the code was. It may come on again anyway, and if it does, get it read so you know for sure if it is a major problem or something minor.

well once you have something that needs replace. like bad o2 sensors stuff like that. it will not go away. but it is hard to trace that the light comes on and off. well if you feel something weird when you drive then there is something that went wrong. you dont feel any difference it probably not a big problem but like you said it that it comes on and off that means something is wrong. well i can check for you if you want im located in LA Ktown area PM me if you need help.

regardless of you resetting the battery, the code will still be stored in the computer until it is manually cleared out regardless of the light being on or not.
youd probably be surprised to have the codes read and see about 10 come up because they weren't properly cleared out.

A common one that I know occurs in my RX300 is a P0171 lean error. I remember when I lived in Mexico and the vehicle was very much stock (it ain't now) I'd be going down the highway and the CEL would come on and rather than pull the EFI fuse or battery cable to disconnect it, I'd let it be and sure enough usually after filling up the gas or just stopping to get a bite to eat, when I'd start it up again, the light would be off. But later I'd get it scanned (now I keep a scanner with me) and it would be a P0171.
