Default striped bolt problem...

kind of embarassing... I was trying to take off my mufflers and i thought i got it it loosen but it ended up striping it, i guess it was rusted.. I don't know how to get the bolt off (because its striped). any ideas how to take the bolt out? or knows a place that could take it out?

heres where the bolts are(not my muffler):

Heat 'em up if rusted on. Otherwise try a hacksaw, dremel with a cutting tip or sawzall.

plenty of ways to get it off. most of them will involve some sort of cutting. if you have a oxyacetylene torch, i would heat it and then try to use some vice grips to turn it.

if you cut it (which is probably easiest) a dremmel will do the trick. something with more power would go quicker. make a length wise cut in two places on the nut and it will fall off. if it was the bolt head side, you could try to cut the head off, or you could just take a drill to it. another ghetto option would be to grind the head off.

good luck

it seems that the bolt on mine was welded into place. and so i just left it alone, it looked as if it were tacked in two places on the bolt. look more closely, maybe they weren't meant to come off? i thought it was a nightmare at first too, but it worked out fine for me.

i gathered all this when i was installing my l-tuned, i freaked out for a bit haha.
