They aren't eyelids... he just painted his hood and a piece of his bumper in that fashion... (and did a rather good job might I add) look closely, you can see the hood line under the paint...
Its like he tinted his head lights and used the same color over the hood.. Look below, the red part is the part of the hood and piece of bumper he painted:
