any cel? if not, probably fuel filter. if you're getting a CEL get the code but in that case its more likely a coil/plug issue, maybe injector.

i'd say maybe think about checking out the timing belt, in which case would yield similar results to the above stated, if the timing is off even by a degree or so, it'll throw it off.

Bad gas ? Do you buy your fuel from the same location all the time ?
If so, next fillup, try a different station, preferrably a brand name station and see if that solves your problem.

It could be the gas station being shady and mixing bad crap in the gas. With the recent fuel shortage/spike in prices and all, for them to be doing something like that can't be ruled out.

I'm not getting a cel and it only does it at around 2500 rpm . I'm thinking bad gas also . or maybe its the heat shield rattleing I did scrape my exhaust a few times and my cats maybe its just the exhaust I just realized that

oh, well i'd have to say if you were pinging badly you would feel the misfire...i had a clamp on the heat shield of the cat rust out and was just kinda dangling on their and was rattling pretty bad. definitely look at that, it makes a huge difference.
