Default Need Help...

Here is the story. I have a 02 GS430. Recently a few months back some idiot broke my window and crawl thru the window to try to start my car. He must have stuck a screw driver or something thru my key ignition. Well the thief took a few items but wasn't manage to steal the car but did some damage to my ignition cylinder. I was going to buy the whole key ignition cylinder from Luis from Carlson Lexus but he couldn't give me an answer what kind of programming or resetting i will be doing with the keys or computer. Luis said it comes complete with 2 keys and the key ignition cylinder. I still can put my original keys in and start my car but its difficult at times and its time to change it before i break my original key inside the key hole. If any member have an answer for this...please help me out. Thank you for your time !!!

you should be able to take it to a dealer obviously and have them program the keys. As far as that is concern, my usual recommendation of taking first the master key, followed by any subsequent keys and inserting them into the lock, turning them both directions a few times would probably not work with a new ignition cylinder, because i'd imagine it has a different reciever in it and different keying profile.
