How to check if your car is under Factory Warranty?

Does any one know if there is a way to check to see of your factory warranty is still good, Other than going to the dealer?

Is there even a way to do this? I know my warranty expired 3 years ago, before I even bought the car. Couldn't afford to buy it from a dealer so I had to settle with a private seller.

I think carfax mentions whats left on the usual dealer warranty... if a transferable warranty was purchased by the previous owner you will need the paperwork...

Use a telephone to call the dealer's service dept and give them the VIN. You don't actually have to go....

^yeah, what's the big deal? you just call them and they will give you the in service date. if you're nice and they like you they can tell you warranty history too.
