GS430 Sales Down 50% for the Month of January?

What is this all about? I just read this in the new section of this great website of ours.

I don't see this happenning with the BMW 5 series, which has been out for a while too. Their sales are up.

This is disheartening. I think it is somewhat due to the fact that it's hard to come accross a GS430 these days on a dealer's lot. The allocation is very limited and spotty at times. I was lucky to have found one at my local dealer in NJ.

It is now time for the revamp of the GS series. There needs to be more appeal to all ages of buyers, the new style has to be more sporty and agressive and provide an optional SPORTS PACKAGE at least like the competition already does.

It's time to come out with something huge for the GS!

i dont know about power, but i honestly think the looks of next GS will get worse.
look at all the redesigned cars today.
nissan is copying IS's rear lights (especially Maxima), the new Z doesnt even look like a REAL sportscar, BMW 745 is ugly has hell, Benz SL500 also looks funny from the rear, and etc etc.
Look at Lexus: the LS and ES. you might say, you grow into the looks or it looks odd but nice. But admit it, they all look worse.
i'm sure sum of you will say everybody has their own opinion, but you still admit it deep inside.
i really hope the new GS has more power and more aggressive looks, but unfortunately, looking at all the redesigned cars on the road these days, i get a feeling all the car designers have a very bad taste.

I'm gonna disagree with you on the LS and ES.. The LS looks much nicer than the previous design plus all the added features are amazing to say the least.. The ES looks alot different than the Camry and that is praise enough plus its cheaper than the last iteration..

With respect to the 7 series I will agree with you.. Its scary ugly.. The new Z is nothing like the 300Z which still to this day looks AMAZING in my eyes.. Maxima is due for a significant change soon so I will leave that model alone and hope for the best..

Mercedes has some much nicer styled vehicles now.. The CL is stunning and I really like how the C-Class looks but considering how hideous the last one looked they could only go up..

As for the upcoming GS with an AWD wagon that will bring new customers in and hopefully for us folks up here in the North a AWD sedan will be offered up too.. Just can't see myself in a wagon just yet..
I think the styling will look just fine.. Lets try and have some faith.. (Crossing fingers)

i just hope you're right for the sake of other people, but me personally, i hope I'M RIGHT cuz as i said, i think it'll only get worse so i'm planning on getting a GS this march.

actually, i'm going BACK to the GS cuz i traded in my '99 GS for the '01 IS i have right now. why trade in a for a cheaper car then come back? cuz these days i feel the GS actually looks better and thats what i only look in a car. i only care about reputation and looks. yeah, screw the numbers cuz i dont really care about performance. lol.

if YOU are right, i'll just trade in the GS i have for the redesigned one, hehe.

Supposed new upcoming 5 series, not bad at all. Not as ugly as the new 7 series.

By the way I like the newer / current style of the Lexus LS430 - it looks more commanding on the road as opposed to the previous generation. Maybe it's the current front style, which I like.

I think that's looking at the glass as half empty.

When the CURRENT GS came out, many said it didn't have the flowing lines of the prior GS even though it now had decent power.

Most people just don't like change.

Look at the new Mercedes SL - it's AWESOME.

It looks to me like if that really is the new 540i, the styling has moved toward the GS430 -- is that good or bad?

the Ls430 has the nicest interior hands down
and as for exterior its nice and suttle unlike these these new cars coming out

the E-class is the only thing worth looking at

ive seen the 745i up close
looks like a spaceship

and the interior looks like an IKEA store
