I have Magnaflow tips. They are 2.25in In X 4in Out X 7.5in Long. I imagine 8in long tips will stick out that much more.
If you think you will eventually want a different exhaust note then skip the tips and save up for a full system as suggested. But if you are like me and want your car to stay quiet get some new tips.

Debonair, are those tips welded on? or clamped on?

These are welded on. They are double walled and the inner pipe that actually goes farther back then the outer wall does so it looks like there is more room then there actually is.

Forget clamp on! You would have a lot more room for adjustment of how the tips fit if you go with a weld on. It probably takes a maximum of 20 minutes for a muffler shop to cut off the stock tips, adjust the tips to a position of your preference, and weld them thangs on.
Most muffler shops in my hood have one of those under ground pits to do work from so they don't need to use a lift; so maybe add another 8 minutes to the job to get your car on the lift since it's so super slammed. I wouldn't pay more than 20 bones for this job to be done.
The distance between my base of my oem muffler to the outermost edge of the bottom part of my bumper is approximately 10 inches. This means that an 8 inch long tip won't be too long.
Those tips look super dope! I just wish they didn't have such a big Magnaflow stamp on them..

so i think i might have to go for the welded tip then..cuz i just looked at the stock tip..and it kinda angles down..so a clamp on will only go in a few inches..i just dont kno of any shops in SD that i can go to where i wouldnt have to get on a lift..i dont wanna raise my car for a 20min job..takes longer to raise my car than to get it welded
so now question is..any reputable welding spots in SD that can do this?

Stock tips were yanked and discarded. These slipped over the stock pipe and were welded on. These cost me a total of $100.00 installed out the door. You will be hard pressed to find that good of a deal but it should be real close.
